Important Notes:

  • Due to high demand, we currently service only Rolex watches and select luxury brands originally purchased from Jackson Jewelers.
  • Service may be declined based on the watch’s condition or limited part availability.
  • For brands we do not service, we recommend contacting the original seller or manufacturer for assistance.

Jackson Jewelers has an exclusive service parts account approved by Rolex Watch Company, allowing us access to genuine Rolex parts. However, we are not an authorized retailer of Rolex watches. Please note that some parts, such as specific bracelets, bezels, and external components, may not be available.

The most comprehensive service provided by Jackson Jewelers' watch repair facility is the Complete Overhaul for any mechanical timepiece. This meticulous process ensures your watch is restored to its best possible condition and includes:

  • Disassembly: Removal of the internal movement and complete disassembly of all components.
  • Cleaning: Each part is carefully cleaned to remove dust, dirt, and old lubricants.
  • Reassembly and Lubrication: The movement is rebuilt, with all necessary parts replaced and lubricated to factory specifications.
  • Gasket Replacement: Worn gaskets are replaced to ensure water resistance.
  • Case and Bracelet Refinishing: The exterior is polished and restored to the best of the watch’s ability.

This service is typically recommended every 5-7 years, depending on the watch's age and condition, to maintain peak performance and longevity.

Jackson Jewelers 1-Year Limited Warranty for Most Rolex In-House Watch Overhauls

Jackson Jewelers is proud to offer a 1-year in-house warranty on our Complete Overhaul service for most Rolex watches. This warranty ensures your watch continues to perform optimally after servicing.

What’s Covered

  • Time Regulation: If your watch gains or loses time (e.g., runs fast or slow), we will adjust it at no additional cost during the first year.
  • Power Reserve Issues: If your serviced watch does not hold a charge or stay wound, we will consult with you about supplemental winding techniques (see our Watch Maintenance Guide) and, if necessary, provide additional repairs free of charge.

Warranty Limitations

The warranty will be voided under the following conditions:

  • The watch is dropped or subjected to physical impacts.
  • The watch is worn improperly, such as failing to screw down the crown tightly, allowing moisture to enter the case.
  • Damage caused by external factors, including misuse, neglect, or exposure to harmful conditions.

Jackson Jewelers reserves the right to assess the nature of the issue and determine whether it falls within the warranty coverage.

Common Issues with Mechanical Watches and Key Considerations

Owning a mechanical watch is both a privilege and a responsibility. These intricate timepieces require proper care and awareness of potential issues to ensure optimal performance. Here are some common issues and how to address them:

  1. Water Resistance Maintenance

Water resistance is a critical feature of many mechanical watches, but it requires regular upkeep:

  • Routine Checks: During a Complete Overhaul, Jackson Jewelers evaluates and replaces worn gaskets and seals, which are essential for keeping moisture out.
  • Signs of Moisture: If you notice condensation inside the case or on the crystal, it’s a sign the seals may have been compromised.
  • Crown Positioning: A common culprit for moisture issues is leaving the crown unscrewed, creating a direct path for water.
  • Prevention Tip: Always ensure screw-down crowns are securely tightened. If you need guidance, our team can demonstrate proper techniques.
  1. Watch Regulation - (Running fast or Slow)

Even well-maintained mechanical watches may occasionally run slightly fast or slow. Here’s what to know:

  • What is Regulation? Regulation involves fine-tuning the internal mechanism to improve timekeeping precision.
  • When is Regulation Needed? After major servicing or due to environmental factors like temperature, humidity, or how the watch is worn, additional adjustments may be necessary.
  • How We Help: Our technicians use the regulator arm to adjust the watch’s rate, ensuring it operates as accurately as possible. If your watch requires further adjustments after service, we offer follow-up regulation at no charge.
  1. Mechanical Watch De-Magnetization

Magnetic fields can interfere with the delicate mechanisms of a mechanical watch, affecting accuracy.

  • Common Sources: Everyday items like speakers, cell phones, and even some handbags contain magnets that can disrupt your watch.
  • How We Fix It: Our experts can quickly restore your watch’s functionality through de-magnetization, a non-invasive process that re-aligns the internal components.
  • Prevention Tip: Be mindful of placing your watch near strong magnetic sources.

Watch Care Guide

Proper care is essential to ensure your watch remains a reliable and stylish companion for years to come. Follow these tips to maintain its performance and appearance.

General Cleaning

  • Non-Water-Resistant Watches: Use a dry, soft cloth to gently clean the case and strap.
  • Water-Resistant Watches: Use a damp cloth to clean the case, then dry thoroughly. For metal bracelets, wash with mild soapy water and a soft toothbrush.

Maintenance Schedule

  • For mechanical watches, a full movement overhaul is recommended every 5–7 years to maintain accuracy and reliability.

Winding and Setting Guidelines

  • Manual Watches: Fully wind at the same time daily. Stop winding as soon as resistance is felt to avoid damaging the mechanism.
  • Automatic Watches:
    • Wear daily for optimal performance.
    • If not worn regularly, wind the crown 20–40 turns every two weeks.
    • Ensure screw-down crowns are securely tightened after setting to maintain water resistance.
  • Setting the Date: Avoid adjusting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as internal components may be under strain.

Things to Avoid

  1. Impacts
    • Strong impacts can harm the internal mechanisms. Avoid wearing your watch during activities like mountain biking, golfing, or other high-impact sports.
    • Place watches away from counter edges to prevent accidental falls.
  2. Extreme Temperatures
    • Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 140°F (60°C) or below 32°F (0°C) can affect performance and water resistance.
    • Limit use in hot tubs or saunas to avoid wear on gaskets and seals.
  3. Magnetic Fields
    • Keep your watch away from items with strong magnets, such as speakers, phones, or handbags with magnetic clasps. Magnets can disrupt timekeeping accuracy.
  4. Chemicals
    • Avoid contact with household cleaners, cosmetics, and perfumes, which can damage the case, strap, and gaskets.
